SAN FRANCISCO — Two people died Sunday and two others were injured after a shooting near a city playground, authorities said.
Shortly before 4:40 p.m., officers with San Francisco police’s Ingleside district responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of Brunswick Avenue just outside Alice Chalmers playground in the city’s Crocker-Amazon neighborhood. In a social-media post, San Francisco police commander Raj Vaswani said that multiple people were shot but initially declined to share any numbers, conditions or other information.
Vaswani said anyone with information may talk to officers at the scene or call the department’s tip line, and added that public information officers would release more information later. Calls and emails to the department were not immediately returned Sunday night. please talk to the Officers/Investigators at the scene or call our TIP line. PIO will have information later tonight.
