Patchy fog is expected early Wednesday, but the sky will mix and turn partly to mostly sunny. We will trade our gray skies for blue ones, along with warmer temperatures for the end of the week.
Wednesday will be our transitional day, going from a cloudy morning to more sunshine for the second half of the day. The rest of the week will be warmer and brighter, but also drier.
Gusty winds continue today in the mountains and deserts with a Wind Advisory in effect until 5am tomorrow for westerly winds of 25 to 35mph and gusts to 60mph. It remains breezy tomorrow but gusts will be less than 45mph in the mountains and deserts. The coast and valleys will be breezy through tomorrow with westerly winds of 15 to 25mph.
A shallower marine layer Thursday may lead to patchy morning fog but will clear out quickly. Temperatures warm 5 to 10 degrees Wednesday and another 10 to 20-degree jump on Friday and Saturday, the warmest days in our 7-day forecast. Expect mid-70s at the coast, mid to upper 80s inland, 70s in the mountains and mid-90s in the deserts.
High pressure will develop proving offshore winds, which usher warmer and drier air. The ridge won't stick around for long, another system to our north will break down the ridge, as it deepens as the marine cool air will return along with low clouds and patchy fog starting Sunday.
