SAN DIEGO – The race for San Diego City Council’s District 6 seat is heating up, as two Democrat candidates campaign to replace Chris Cate, the only Republican councilmember who is now termed out.

But Kent Lee says the cost of picking up garbage is going up, and the people of San Diego need to pay even more taxes to cover this fee. Trash tax supporters also claim it is unfair for apartments and condos to charge residents for trash pickup, when single family homeowners do not have this fee.
