San Antonio will host some of our nation's greatest heroes this fall. The Congressional Medal of Honor Society will be holding its conference and celebration here.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg, civic leaders and two Medal of Honor recipients gathered at Hangar 9 at Brooks City Base on Friday.
"It is the highest award you can receive for valor against an enemy soldier and you do have to risk your life to be eligible to receive it. Any Medal of Honor recipient will tell you this. This particular honor does not belong to me. it belongs to the 89 men who fought the battle," said a retired Army Specialist Fifth Class and Medal of Honor winner.
