The march will begin at 9 a.m. at Guadalupe Street and South Brazos Street, followed by a celebration at Hemisfair Park.
Participants in the César E. Chávez March for Justice make their way down Guadalupe Street in San Antonio on March 26, 2022. This year's event is scheduled for this coming Saturdayfor Justice is set for this Saturday morning in downtown San Antonio.
The march will begin at 9 a.m. at the Guadalupe Street and South Brazos Street, near the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center at 1310 Guadalupe Street. Those marching will then head east on Guadalupe, north on South Flores and then east on Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard for a total of 2 miles, finishing at the Hemisfair parking lot behind the Magik Theatre.
The march is expected to last until 10 a.m., followed by a celebration at 11 a.m. at Hemisfair Park with guest speakers, food trucks and music.César E. Chavez would stop by San Antonio frequently in the 1960s as he lobbied to improve the working conditions of farm workers. Even after Chavez passed in 1993, his legacy lives on in San Antonio – the march being one such event.
Those who attend the march can find free parking at the Alamodome Parking Lots B and C, where Via will transport attendees to the starting line. Guadalupe Street will be closed for the march starting at 8 a.m.
