“It’s a historic moment for the collective,” SAFC coach Alen Marcina said. “It’s due to the collective that we are in this position. That includes ownership, leadership, the players, the technical staff, the front office, even the fans. Everyone has played a part in getting us to this point.” “Birmingham is a very good team. They are consistently toward the top in the eastern conference,” Marcina said. “The guys demonstrated their resilience in going down a goal and coming back.”
SAFC has not lost since a 1-0 defeat at Sacramento Republic FC on June 4. SAFC will put that unbeaten streak on the line against an Orange County team that has only seven wins on the season.
