Community involvement:I’ve had a love of science since childhood with an aim to understand and improve human health. Academically I’ve always been on a scientific track and post Ph.D. actively sought out opportunities to be in the biotech space.An extension of a Brene Brown quote — “Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be; embrace who you are.” I tend to be reserved by nature but show my full personality once I’m comfortable within my environment - which can take time.
Several mentors have encouraged me to never be afraid or lose too much time bringing my authentic self and contributions to the table as my diversity of thought and prior experiences may just be the trigger for innovation and change.The need for more female leadership support networks.
