It's a strange situation in Turkey as Edin Dzeko seemingly attempts to take things over.
Edin Dzeko has reportedly taken de facto charge of Fenerbahce – and wants Ryan Kent OUT as one of his first acts.
The Turkish giants are in a state of flux despite going relatively well in the Super Lig and local media believe there is a growing power struggle between influential players Dzeko and Dusan Tadic and manager Ismail Kartal. According to Fotosport, he's starting to wield his power already. It's claimed he has created a WhatsApp group exclusively for the Balkan players on the team, with him, Tadic, keeper Dominik Livakovic and others. It's believed he wants to build a new squad around them, hoping to outstay coach Kartal and have even more influence in the summer. And one man who isn't in Dzeko's plans is reportedly former Rangers winger Kent.
His move to Turkey could hardly have gone less to plan and hasn't been used in a match since February. The report claims Dzeko and Tadic want rid of four players: Kent, and ex Manchester United midfielder Fred, as well as Ismail Yuksek and Can Kahveci. Kent's deal currently runs until 2027 but it's highly unlikely he'll stay there beyond the summer. He was close to a transfer to Lazio in the winter window before a move dramatically collapsed but is likely to have more options this summer.
