Former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs has been working as Salford City’s director of football since the start of the season. Salford have not formally announced Giggs’ role but the 50-year-old was quoted in a club statement as their director of football when confirming the appointment of Alex Bruce as an assistant coach last month.

The club confirmed that Giggs has been working in that capacity throughout this season.
Giggs managed his country from January 2018 until June 2022, when he officially stepped down. Assistant manager Rob Page had been in caretaker charge of the team after Giggs was arrested in November 2020. Giggs had been charged with headbutting former girlfriend Kate Greville when she tried to break off their relationship on November 1, 2020.
