Georginio Rutter has reached out to Leeds United supporters after news of his hernia surgery following a hard few weeks playing through the pain barrier
Pain has overcome Georginio Rutter, whose body told him to stop after yesterday’s Leeds United win over Millwall. The 21-year-old withdrew from France’s Under-23s squad on Monday morning before the Whites later confirmed Rutter would undergo surgery.
The forward has now broken his silence on the news with a message to supporters, thanking them for their backing at Elland Road yesterday. The playmaker also reveals just how challenging the last few weeks have been playing through the pain barrier.“Hi everyone,” he said via social media. “Important victory yesterday, thank you for the support, but I wanted to tell you, after a few painful weeks, I tried to give everything until the end for the team, but my body told me to stop.
Daniel Farke’s talismanic forward has started every Championship game for the Whites since August 12, when he came off the bench in the 1-0 loss to Birmingham City.
