USC transfer Brandon Campbell is heading to UH, giving the Cougars some relief at the position after losing Alton McCaskill to a severe knee injury.The University of Houston picked up a commitment Monday from Brandon Campbell, a transfer running back from USC.The pickup of Campbell comes at a critical time for the Cougars, who are expected to be without top back Alton McCaskill,Campbell would join Ta'Zhawn Henry to give the Cougars a formidable duo in the backfield.
Campbell, who was recruited to USC by current UH running backs coach Mike Jinks, played in three games for the Trojans as a true freshman. He carried the ball 12 times for 53 yards and also had one caught for 16 yards. A four-star recruit in the 2021 class, Campbell was rated the No. 15 running back in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and picked USC over Alabama.
