They queued, then row after row of mourners poured into the park to pay their respects to Brianna
Mourners lined the street outside Sackville Gardens to catch a glimpse of the vigil for Brianna Ghey, and to reflect. Hundreds had already poured into the park to pay their respects to the 16-year-old transgender girl, from Warrington.
"And most of all, to show trans young people that they are not alone, and that lots of us support them. I think it's hopeful to see that so many people are on side with us as trans people, and on side with this lovely young woman who has had her life cut short, but at the same time it's frightening for everyone as well."
She said: "She was helping me find the best hair extensions, good make-up brands, clothes, and truly uplifted me. I stood by her throughout the past few years in utter awe of her beauty, as it was truly mesmerising.
