Robby Snelling and Graham Pauley have been on the fast track since beginning the 2023 season together in the California League.
The two 2022 draftees have advanced two levels in their first full year of pro ball and are hunting a Texas League title at Double-A San Antonio. Their production across three stops this year led the Padres to name them their minor league players of the year.overall pick last year, Snelling, 19, led all Padres minor league pitchers this year with 11 wins and a 1.82 ERA in 103 2/3 innings split between low Single-A Lake Elsinore, high Single-A Fort Wayne and San Antonio.
Snelling started San Antonio’s playoff opener on Tuesday, allowing three runs in four innings in a no-decision.Like Snelling, Pauley also started this year at Lake Elsinore, advanced to Fort Wayne and is now hitting in the middle of San Antonio’s lineup.-rounder led the organization with 23 homers and 94 RBIs and hit .308/.393/.538 while seeing time at third base, second base and the corner spots in the outfield.The Missions lead the best-of-three series, 1-0.
