Our true heroes
Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield have tonight been given the Freedom of Leeds during a council ceremony. Leeds City Council announced in December that Rob and Kevin were chosen to receive the honour for their courage, commitment and inspiration.
Rob was joined by his wife and rock Lindsey Burrow who can be seen signing the book as he smiles on. following the Leeds United 1967 to 1974 squad who were the last to receive honour in December 2019.Leeds Rhinos tweeted earlier on Wednesday evening saying: "Wonderful to see @Rob7Burrow receiving the Freedom of the City of Leeds"
Rob's former club, where he was captain for 16 years, also posted a video of his speech following the ceremony. "I've represented the best city and I can't see how to get more from Leeds than to receive this honour, thanks to my entire family for their help and support throughout the three years, especially my wife and kids who give me reason to never give in.
