Riverside will be left without its own Post Office after it was revealed that the outlet is to close after the postmaster there resigned.
The Post Office branch, operating out of the Riverside Mini Market, in Abbey Road, will stop operating on Thursday, May 16.
Brian Turnbull, network provision lead for the Post Office, wrote on the website explaining the decision and detailed how it is seeking a new outlet in the area to take on the role: “We are writing to inform you that, regrettably, following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use, the above branch will be closing on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 10pm.
“The latest closure in Riverside will be of particular concern to those who may be unable to easily get to the nearest branch in the Thistles and I share these concerns.
