The prime minister also offered the UK’s support to the country in his speech, a day after 10 Downing Street was lit up in the colours of the Israeli flag.
‘And I promise you: I will stop at nothing to keep you safe.’ The PM’s speech came after he issued a joint statement with US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni affirming their countries’ positions. The statement promises ‘steadfast and united support to the State of Israel, and our unequivocal condemnation of Hamas and its appalling acts of terrorism’.
