Village funds continue to increase, in direct proportion to the increase in village corruption.
Ten years of the Village Law has not provided any fundamental changes in improving the welfare of village communities.
The success of IDM-based village development does not seem to significantly affect the level of inequality and povertywhich is still above the level of urban poverty, both in terms of depth and severity of poverty. Conditions like this will trigger extreme poverty in rural areas. From a budgeting perspective, there are still problems, especially in terms of development and surveillance aspects that imply the increasing occurrence of corruption practices in villages. Village funds continue to increase, parallel to the rise of village corruption. The large number of village chiefs involved in corruption cases indicates weak surveillance functions and shows that not all village chiefs have integrity.
Finally, institutional. The role of the Village Consultative Body is not yet visible . The BPD does not have any position in the administration of village government and seems to be under the village head, even though the function of the BPD is similar to that of the DPRD. The role of the BPD needs to be strengthened so that it can monitor the performance of village heads and their apparatus.
