Violist Jessica Meyer joins Hausmann Quartet in world premiere of her own work

He expressed sympathy for its Indigenous culture and landscapes unprecedented among Australian composers of concert music.
Its evocations of insects, birds and Indigenous songs are no surprise to listeners acquainted with Sculthorpe’s music. I wished that I could have experienced it in a more resonant environment, where the cello’s deep notes would have filled the space more.
