A single espresso from Pret A Manger was found to contain six times as much caffeine as one from Starbucks, while cappucinos from Greggs and Pret a Manger contained significantly less caffeine than one from Costa.
A new study has revealed the"huge" differences in the amount of caffeine in coffees from leading high street chains like Costa, Starbucks and Pret A Manger.
While the variations are not only due to the number of caffeine shots used across the chains, nutritionists say you may be consuming"significantly more or less caffeine than you bargained for". When it comes to a single espresso, one from Starbucks contains a"meagre" 33mg of caffeine - meaning at 180mg, one from Pret contains almost six times more.
