The SaskatoonSPCA says Walter White the cat was reunited with his owners thanks to being microchipped.

“After just over a year, Nikky and her family had lost hope. They cried and mourned the loss of their kitty,” the post says, quoting a shelter staff member who was present for the unexpected “reunion of a lifetime.” Last week, a woman brought a cat to the SPCA, saying he’d been hanging around her yard for a few days and she wanted to check if he had a home. Fortunately, he was microchipped.Nikky drove to the shelter “as fast as she could without breaking the law” and was overcome with emotion upon seeing her cat again, the post says. The staff member noted this is the longest missing period before a reunion they’ve ever seen.
