Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency on Wednesday for 13 counties, including Los Angeles and San Bernardino.
"Nobody got hurt. We did have one staff member in the backroom when the initial collapse happened, but he heard the noises, the creaking of the beams. … He was able to get out right before the thing crashed," the market's general manager told KTLA. San Bernardino County Fire spokesman Mike McClintock said structure fires have been a big problem in the mountain communities, which is surprising and unusual, per the local news outlet. One couple's home exploded due to a gas leak.
