There was no red wave in South Texas. There wasn’t even a red ripple. Republicans in Austin and D.C. should understand that if they could barely eke out this one win here, they should probably pack up their bags and get the hell out of our region.
Data shows that Hispanic residents now represent the largest ethnic group in Texas. However, that wasn’t enough to turn the tide of voters in South Texas — a feat analysts insist saved Texas Democrats. U.S. Rep. Mayra Flores, who lost in South Texas, took to Twitter to blame voters for not showing up to the polls.
