Iconic bike manufacturer Raleigh has reportedly announced a restructuring plan which will see some staff made redundant and finalise the move away from its current Nottinghamshire base on Church Street, Eastwood
Raleigh has announced job losses will be made and confirmed its move from its Nottinghamshire headquarters, according to reports. .
The business moved to Eastwood from its Triumph Road factory in Lenton, which later became the University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus. At its peak in the 1970s, Raleigh employed 13,000-plus people nationwide, including about 8,000 staff based on numerous sites on Triumph Road. Mr Radulovic was involved with bringing Raleigh to Eastwood in the early 2000s and said he would be returning to the site on Friday, November 10, to ensure the council was in pole position to bid for the properties intended to be used as social housing. While expressing sympathy for the staff impacted, the leader said it would be a vital opportunity for the area to meet its housing needs.
A spokesperson for Accell told ITV News Central: “To ensure Accell UK remains competitive in what is a challenging market, we have recently concluded a detailed review of the business, aimed at helping to position Accell for sustainable growth in the UK and internationally.
