From photorealistic paintings of West Side scenes to monumental public art that revealed his city to the world, here’s some of the best-known work of famed S.A. artist Jesse Treviño, who died Monday morning at 76."Spirit of Healing," a hand cut, tiled mural on the wall of the Children's Hospital of San Antonio, is one of his best-known works.
"La Veladora of Our Lady of Guadalupe" is a three dimensional mural/sculpture at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.Jesse Treviño first gained acclaim for his realistic paintings of everyday scenes on the city’s West Side, such as “La Raspa.”Jesse Treviño seated at his easel in front of his portrait of the pope before the pope’s visit to San Antonio in 1987.
