Authorities are searching for an adult who went missing while reportedly using an electronic underwater scooter Saturday.
A recovery effort is underway at Lake Travis for an adult who reportedly went underwater and did not resurface. Authorities were alerted about the incident at around 2:40 p.m. Saturday, according to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter , from Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services . The rescue effort began at the 16900 block of Cherry Lane near Lake Travis .
Multiple first responder boats were on the scene by 3 p.m. to search the area with sonar technology. EMS provided a final update at 3:20 p.m., writing online that the “rescue efforts have transitioned to recovery.” “The scene is being turned over to law enforcement,” the post reads. “No further information is available.” The Travis County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond Sunday to provide an update on the case.
