A few weather features will join forces to create a long-lasting heat wave in the Pacific Northwest beginning Friday.

Armstrong Williams takes on the news of the week, this week with special guest Gov. Wes Moore . Don't miss our weekly town hall. The mountain is out in West Seattle on July 6, 2024. The region's heat wave , which began Friday, warranted a heat advisory to be issued from noon Friday until 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures will only slowly ease next week, dropping into the upper to middle 80s around the metro area by Tuesday and Wednesday. While a relief from the 90s, those highs are still going to register about 10 degrees above normal.Further cooling takes shape later in the week thanks to the return of onshore flow, which will encourage the sea breeze to make a comeback in western Washington. Even so, we'll likely stay in the low 80s near Seattle.

According to the National Weather Service, the low temp through 4:30 a.m. Monday in Everett was 73 degrees. In 76 years at the Paine Field location, a low temp at or above 70 has occurred twice, NWS said.
