Drivers were asked to avoid the Beersbridge Road while the incident was dealt with. The road had been closed at the junction with Castlereagh Road and diversions are in place.
"Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, who extinguished the blaze. "The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and temporary road closures have now been lifted to all traffic." The road is currently closed at the junction of Castlereagh Road with diversions in place via Trillick Street and Lord StreetA PSNI spokesperson said: "The Beersbridge Road in east Belfast is currently closed at its junction with the Castlereagh Road due to a fire in the area. Traffic is being diverted through Trillick Street and Lord Street. Please avoid the area if possible as traffic is building.
