Rodents are giving residents around Block 304 Bukit Batok Street 31 a fright.
"The rats are large, and they enjoy loitering at the potted plants right outside the Hong Kah North Zone 3 Residents' Network," said the Stomper, who added that the rodents have been an ongoing issue for several months
In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for the Chua Chu Kang Town Council said it is aware of the matter and is working closely with our it pest control operator and relevant government agencies to eradicate the rats. The town council also shared with Stomp its three-pronged surveillance, control and prevention programme to:"As part of our sustained mitigation measures, CCKTC and our PCO inspect the void deck of Block 304 and the surrounding areas monthly," said the spokesperson.
"For example, the PCO will place baits in burrows to exterminate the rats and ensure the burrows are no longer active. We have also placed rodent baits and rodenticide at key spots where rodent activities are detected, as well as at strategic points in bin chutes, Central Refuse Chutes , and bin centres.
