It's the big one at Hampden as Rangers and Aberdeen go head to head.
Scott Anderson is aiming to put Aberdeen's name on the Scottish Youth Cup for the fourth time. They've not won the trophy since 2001 as they bid to end a 23-year wait for the crown with the boss delivering his views to Red TV ahead of the trip to Hampden. This is an important competition for the club, it always has been, but we’ve not won it in more than 20 years now. We were in the final in 2020 against Kilmarnock but sadly that game did not take place due to COVID.
We are a young group and we’ve been that all season, but we’ve got some really good individual players, and the positive thing is they’ve come together as a group, and have a real spirit and togetherness around them. That’s what’s helped them win a lot of games. We’re pleased that they’re still competing in the league as well. We’ve got four games to go, it’s in our hands, but it’s going to be really tough, because it’s four games in the space of eight or nine days.
