Protesters from the plant-based food movement 'Animal Rebellion' attempted to disrupt the queen's jubilee Trooping the Colour parade.
The group identifies itself as a"mass volunteer movement using non-violent civil disobedience to help transition to a plant based food system."
The protesters' signs urging to"reclaim royal land" are associated with the group's assertion, according to their website, that 76 percent of British farmland, of which thousands of acres are owned and managed by the Crown Estates, should be"rewilded" to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Protestors from the group Animal Rebellion were restrained by Metropolitan Police officers after attempting to disrupt the queen's Platinum Jubilee Trooping the Colour parade. June 2, 2022.These comments are followed by Robert Gordon, a spokesperson for Animal Rebellion, who said:"These jubilee celebrations are set to cost the taxpayer tens, if not hundreds of millions of pounds.
Despite the efforts of the Animal Rebellion activists, the jubilee procession continued to the Horse Guards Parade wherereceived the royal salute from the troops on behalf of the queen, who instead took a special salute following the event from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
