A Purdue University student's death was due to “multiple sharp force traumatic injuries,' according to the Tippecanoe County Coroner Office.
Ji Min Sha, 22, was identified as the suspect by Purdue Police Chief Lesley Wiete during a press conference in the killing of Varun Manish Chheda.who was killed in his dorm room died of"multiple sharp force traumatic injuries," according to the coroner.
"This is extremely sad and unfortunate for us today, and I can't even imagine what his family's going through at this time," Wiete said. "As Purdue's president, but even more so as a parent myself, I assure you that the safety and security of our students is the single highest priority on our campus," Daniels said."Purdue is an extraordinarily safe place on any given day, and compared with cities of Purdue’s population , we experience a tiny fraction of violent and property crime that occurs elsewhere."
Sha told reporters,"I love my family" as he was taken to jail on Wednesday. He is being held without bond, according to jail records.
