One of the X-Men’s deadliest, and most complicated, heroes has been given a phenomenal new cosplay showing off her classic 1990s design
Psylocke has been a fan-favorite X-Man for years, earning both fan love and respect from peers like Wolverine, and now an incredible cosplay is showing off just how great a design she has. Her history might be convoluted, but with her recent resurgence in the comics, there’s never been a better time for this cosplay of the assassin called Kwannon.
Now, Luna Maria Pyskow has stunned as Psylocke in an incredible new cosplay. Captured perfectly by Marquard Photography , Pyskow looks equal parts dangerous and confident in Jim Lee’s classic costume, complete with requisite katana. Marquard’s action-packed backgrounds only accentuate the effect of the cosplay, with the photographer also sharing a behind the scenes video of how the photoshoot came together.

Krakoa Means Second Chances for Everyone Since the beginning of the X-Men’s Krakoan era in 2019 Kwannon, as Psylocke, has truly come into her own. With starring roles in both Bryan Edward Hill and Szymon Kudranski’s Fallen Angels Vol 2 and Zeb Wells, Stephen Segovia, Carmen Carnero and Rogê Antônio’s Hellions Vol 1, the future has never been brighter for a character who once seemed to be dead for good.
Perhaps the best things about this new era for Kwannon is that she’s finally able to have stories independent from the infamous body-swap with Betsy Braddock. Kwannon in the ‘90s is defined almost entirely by her relation to Betsy, and while it’s important for the characters themselves to deal with their own feelings on what happened, it doesn’t have to be their entire plot. Psylocke now gets to live her best life as a Captain of Krakoa, respected by not just her peers but by united mutantkind.
