Naomi Long confirmed the pay hike on Monday
PSNI officers are to receive a 7% pay rise after Justice Minister Naomi Long approved the recommendations of an independent pay review body.The pay rise comes as the force combats significant budget pressures on its resources, however the PSNI has said it is 'affordable' within its 2023/24 budget allocation. It says 'due regard' has been given to its impact on delivering public services and future years' budgets.
“The financial challenges faced by all NICS Departments are well documented however public sector pay has been a priority for me and my Executive colleagues. “The Service Executive Team and I have been working closely with colleagues in the Department of Justice and the Department of Finance and I welcome today’s announcement.
