While Nintendo Switch and Xbox sales decline in the UK, the PS5 keeps on growing, although things may change this Christmas period.
PS5 rules Britannia Despite Sony making it more expensive and a dearth of major first party exclusives this year, aside from Spider-Man 2, the PlayStation 5 is only performing better and better as time goes on. Lifetime sales hit 40 million back in July and, just a month later, European sales more than tripled compared to 2022. Sony did admit it wasn’t too impressed with how the PlayStation 5 was selling in the UK but recent sales data suggests it’s doing incredibly well by any normal measure.
’ Bloch adds, ‘Over the same measures the Xbox Series consoles have dropped from 26% market share over the last 12 months to 23% over the last 6 months, but the biggest decline has been Switch, down from 34% to 25%.
