Citing recent clinical studies, the province says the practice does not effectively safeguard patients against the Omicron variant.
Those newly reported deaths occurred from March 27 to April 2, according to a news release issued Wednesday.
There were 20 confirmed COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care and care home settings reported this week.
