The Department of Justice has reportedly formally requested for Prince Andrew to cooperate with its investigation, after months of attempts to get him to talk
Officials cited by NBC News say the move is focused on making the investigation as thorough as possible, and Andrew is being treated as a potential witness rather than as a suspect.
Last year, Andrew declared in a disastrous BBC interview that he would be willing to cooperate with authorities “if push comes to shove,” but in March he rowed back on that commitment.
