Five adults and two teens have been arrested as part of the probe, local and federal authorities said Friday. At least two more arrests could be coming
The investigation into the slayings of two teens at a Halloween party in National City led authorities to uncover a group thought to be behind other violent crimes, weapons offenses and drug trafficking.
The countywide Violent Crimes Task Force — a partnership of several local policing agencies, and headed by the FBI — started investigating in March. During the sweep, authorities arrested two youths — 17 at the time of the killings — on suspicion of murder in the shooting deaths of Barrera and Aguilera.
