Sir Geoffrey Shakerley, the photographer behind the official family photo at Prince Edward and Sophie's wedding back in 1999, has disclosed that one of the images was digitally manipulated due to Prince William 's unhappy demeanour.

Following this backlash, Kate released a statement admitting to editing the photo. It read: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C"
