Prince William pays tribute as Jill Scott retires from football after Euro 2022 win euro2022 Lionesses
The Duke of Cambridge has congratulated England midfielder Jill Scott on her career as she announced her retirement, joking he would not miss her “slide tackles”.
Scott, 35, opened up about her decision to retire on Twitter as she wrote: “Right, we’re not crying. I promised myself. I’m retiring from football. And I’m leaving with a gold medal swinging from my neck.” While a third added: "Absolute legend. You have made our country proud, but most importantly, you have made yourself proud. So glad you ended your career the way you did. You deserved it. This isn’t the end. It’s just the beginning".
