Prince William paid a private visit to a barracks near Windsor, marking his first royal appearance since medical staff reportedly tried to access Kate Middleton's medical records
Prince William has stepped out in public for the first time since claims emerged that medical staff had tried to access his wife Kate Middleton's medical records. The Prince of Wales met with members of the Welsh Guards on Wednesday 20th March, stopping by the Combermere Barracks near Windsor for a private visit which he shared on social media.
It is the first royal appointment Prince William has undertaken since it was reported that staff at The London Clinic - where Kate was a patient in January - had attempted to access her private medical records. The clinic addressed the claims earlier this week, stating that "all appropriate, regulatory and disciplinary steps will be taken".
A source told the Mirror: "This is a major security breach and incredibly damaging for the hospital, given its unblemished reputation for treating members of the Royal Family. Senior hospital bosses contacted Kensington Palace immediately after the incident was brought to their attention and assured the palace there would be a full investigation.
The London clinic refused to comment on the claims but said: "We firmly believe that all our patients, no matter their status, deserve total privacy and confidentiality regarding their medical information."
