In his memoir, the Duke recounts calling Meghan after spending his final moments with the Queen, alleging that the Duchess of Sussex was not allowed to join him at Balmoral. Harry says he received a call from an unknown number on 8 September and the caller was his father who was already at the Queen’s Scottish residence, as her health deteriorated.
“Straight away I wrote to Willy [William] to ask if he and Kate were going to fly there and, if so, when and on what terms. He did not reply,” the Duke writes. Harry and Meghan were in Europe when the Queen’s condition deteriorated and cancelled plans to attend a charity event due to concerns over the monarch’s health.
