Fiona Beal pleaded guilty to the murder mid-trial
Fiona Beal, 50, pleaded guilty mid-trial to the murder of Nicholas Billingham, 42, at the Old Bailey today . Initially, she admitted to the lesser offence of manslaughter by reason of loss of control.
The prosecutor labelled the narrative "sustained and dishonest" and said there was "no evidence" that Beal ever took a Covid test. The court heard how similar message were sent from Mr Billingham's phone from November 2 - but it was in fact Beal "pretending to be him". She returned to work "fully discharging her considerable responsibilities as a teacher to Year 6 pupils" and receiving a "sympathetic response" from those who heard of the apparent break-up. The court was told that Beal's mental health began deteriorating in late February 2022.
Mr Davies said: “They certainly do contain some unambiguously clear declarations of what she had done. These parts were not just her truth, but the truth. What was this?
