Robert McGinnis, who turns 55 this month, claims he’s in agonising daily pain with a broken back, a knee which needs replaced and a hernia issue which also requires surgery.
A housebound man who requires multiple surgeries has today issued a impassioned plea to NHS Ayrshire & Arran bosses to help free him from his healthcare trap.
And in another blow, a surgeon who was due to perform the hernia procedure said this would not happen until his back was mended. “I’m on Tramadol painkillers and I just have to move the wrong way and the pain starts up. But you don’t want to tell your family you’re in pain all the time. I have two daughters.”
“He has been in Ayr Hospital, at length, on many occasions and has had several pre-ops to establish his condition to undergo surgery for hiatus hernia, broken back and knee replacement. “He also really needs a structured physio programme in place as his muscles and strength have depleted. His hands are all deformed as he has been constantly trying to lift himself up to alleviate the pain from the hernia and to get oxygen into his lungs.
