The first Preston Historical Society talk of 2023 is set to explore music in a country house in the 1730s 🎼
The upcoming event will see Alan Crosby explore the music that would have been performed at Rufford Hall in the 1730s.
The music was revealed by a 1735 inventory in the Hesketh of Rufford collection at Lancashire Archives. A spokesperson for Preston Historical Society said: “It is from the time of Handel and other leading Baroque composers, but this is about the music performed by amateurs – the family and their friends – at Rufford.Preston’s historical sites as they are now, a photo specialIt will take place on Monday 6 February from 7pm to 8.30pm at Central Methodist Church in Lune Street, Preston City Centre.
