Houston Academy defeated Ashford 25-12, 25-23, 25-15 Monday night in high school volleyball action, clinching the Class 3A, Area 2 regular-season title.

Molly Rutland had 27 assists, five digs, two aces for the Raiders . Mary Suzan Aman had nine kills, three digs and two blocks. Whiddon Armstrong had seven kills, Millie Gay had four kills and three blocks, while Emma King Armstrong had five kills and Anne Davis Sinquefield had four kills.Geneva downs Wickskburg: Geneva defeated Wicksburg 25-19, 18-25, 25-7, 25-17.

RayAnna Ausley had 13 kills, 15 assists and 14 digs, and Hayden Howell three aces, 18 assists, eight digs and two kills to lead Geneva. Also for GHS, Aubrey Simon had nine kills, two aces and three blocks, Quin Barnett had 11 kills and Jayda Cox had eight kills, while Aubree Lamb had 15 digs. Faith Brookshire had eight kills, Lainee Thomas had 13 assists and four aces and Arianna Knox had six kills and three aces.Addie Tyler had 14 assists, Kyla Richardson had nine kills and four digs and Arianna Turner had three aces, three blocks and three kills.Brooke Butler had six aces, Megan Pinson had four aces and two digs, Madie Wilson had three aces and 22 assists, Cuba Wiggins had eight kills and CB Johnson and Ada Blackstock each had five kills.

Opp gets win: The Bobcats beat Pike County 25-13, 25-8 as Rylie Kate Thrash and LaTisia Coleman each had four aces, Chloe Bentley and Brooke Williams each had three aces and Braleigh Nall had three kills. Thrash also had seven assists.For Wicksburg, Brayslee Yeakle had three kills, Reese Strickland two kills and Claire Bennett five assists.For Wicksburg, LaCie McVey had two aces and both Mallory Marchman and Allie Potter had an ace and a kill each.
