However, according to a new report by ESPN, five members of the Premier League's Independent Key Match Incidents Panel voted in favour, 3-2, that Jota should not have been shown a second yellow card. The report is said to have labelled the decision as "incorrect" and believe the 69th-minute lunge "did not meet the threshold for a yellow card".
The 37-year-old has been at the centre of the controversy surrounding the Reds after Luis Diaz's goal in the Premier League defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday was wrongly disallowed.
