Leach was admitted to the hospital on Sunday with a"personal health issue"After he was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson on Sunday night, an outpouring of support came his way.His colleagues were among the first to respond, including Southern Cal coach Lincoln Riley, who comes from Leach's coaching tree. Riley was a walk-on quarterback at Texas Tech early in Leach's 10-year tenure with the Red Raiders.
SEC foes including LSU's Brian Kelly and Missouri's Eliah Drinkwitz shared their prayers. Alabama's Nick Saban put out a statement Monday morning. Former players sent their prayers, including linebacker Aaron Brule who transferred from Mississippi State to Michigan State last offseason.this week and voiced his displeasure with Leach in the announcement, offered his thoughts as well.College football personalities sent their prayers Leach's way while also discussing some of their favorite memories of"The Pirate." Video of Leach's cameo in Friday Night Lights has spread.
