The popular store brand, website and intellectual property were bought by The Range after it went into administration
Wilko is set to open stores in Northern Ireland for the first time as the discount hardware and furnishings retailers returns to the high street and retail parks across the UK.
Wilko collapsed in early August, leading to thousands of job losses and the closure of its 408 stores, many of them in traditional town centres. CEO of CDS Superstores, trading as The Range and Wilko, Alexander Simpkin said; “For the majority of its 93 years, Wilko was an incredibly successful business that gave its customers exactly what they needed to get their home and garden jobs sorted.
“We’ll endeavour to give ex-wilko employees priority as a part of the recruitment process for the new stores.”
