A popular food and drink festival is set to return to Paisley this year 🌯
RenfrewshireThe calendar begins with the popular food and drink festival which will take place on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22., workshops and more with the stunning backdrop of Paisley Abbey.The annual Renfrew and Barshaw Gala Days will take place on Sunday, June 4 and Saturday, June 17.
The holiday takes its name from a famous dispute between the local shawl weavers and manufacturers in the 19th century and is held on the first Saturday in July to mark the time of year when the weavers and their families would traditionally take their holidays.
The festival will feature a range of competitive disciplines, including Gaelic song, poetry, literature, drama, instrumental, Highland dancing and sport.Paisley Halloween Festival will also return with a programme of thrills and frights for all the family in October, and there will be family fun in the festive season with Paisley's Christmas town centre throughout December.
