Among the women believed to be leading candidates for Joe Biden’s running mate, Sen. Elizabeth Warren is the most popular with Democratic voters, according to several polls by AndrewSolender
Leslie Marshall, a Democratic strategist and commentator, toldshe sees diversity as an issue with Warren, arguing “you can’t have two white faces on that platform in my professional opinion.” A Massachusetts native, Marshall says that while she loves Elizabeth Warren, “I just don’t think she’s what Biden needs,” adding that Warren would make “a great Treasury secretary.”
Marshall favors Harris, who she says “ticks all the boxes” and complements Biden with her diversity, experience and relative youth. “No candidate is going to be liked by everybody,” she argues, “but with Harris you have the full package.” How much the public campaign for the VP nomination escalates.
